How to show a video on a page in my site?

Publish Your Video on a Video Sharing Site

Today, the best solution for publishing video on the web, taking advantage of powerful video servers and huge storage space, free of cost, is to first publish your video on a video sharing site such as You Tube, Vimeo or Dailymotion.

Creating an account and profile with one of these services is free of charge. This is also another opportunity to enhance SEO for your e-commerce site by creating a channel with your company name and website URL.

After opening your account, follow the easy online instructions to upload and publish your video. Then when you view your video, look for the zone named 'Share' or 'Embed' on the video page. This zone contains the video's URL. Copy the link for the video to your clipboard.

Actinic has prepared an easy way to embed your videos hosted on one of these services as one of the elements you can insert into a WebBlock. Mouse over the WebBlock table cell where you want to insert a video and in the "Elements" context menu, choose "Add HTML code or script".

 Useful Tip

You may need a size or a format that is not listed in the video properties page.

If so, on the hosting page (You Tube, Vimeo...) you will find a button that generates some HTML code for embedding your video. You'll find a custom format tool. When you fill in one of the two dimensions it will calculate the second dimension necessary for your video.(which may be in 4/3 or 16/9 format). Make sure you update the embed code on the WebBlock!

Copy these dimensions into the video properties page of your WebBlock.

Embed the Video on Your Site : Drag and Drop Editor

For this method, you will need the video’s URL found in the address bar. Copy this and we’ll use it later to put the video on the page.

Back in the WebBlock editor, drag the Video widget onto your page.

On the Video menu on the right of the page, paste the URL you copied earlier into the URL box. The video will automatically display on the editor after you paste it.

You can change the Size and Alignment of the video to how you want using the options in the Properties menu.

If your video has an embed code, you follow a similar process to the Structured WebBlock editor by getting the embed code. You need to place a HTML/JS widget onto the page, then paste the embed code into that widget on the page.
